In December of 1989, a small unassuming firm emerged on the horizon in Dallas, a modest staff of four with a strong creative penchant, DCI Dallas Marketing Group. With the birth of that modest brand came a bold if not intrepid “catch phrase”, “Communicating Change, Changing Communications.” The turbulent nineties ushered in far-reaching implications at a breakneck speed during which time electronic communications would certainly change and would transform the business landscape globally.
In the early nineties, DCI Dallas carved a reputation as an efficient marketing partner for a small but elite group of north Texas clients, and business roots became planted in the rich soil nurtured by the four forks of the Trinity River. From the beginning, the brand captured as its own the spectacular and legendary Dallas skyline. That mark remains. It was one of the early clients who did the brand abbreviation and truncated the name to “DCI”. Like “Coke” and “FedEx”, it caught on. DCI’s first office was located near SMU at 6116 North Central Expressway (at Yale Blvd.) in the Expressway Tower – a Dallas landmark that previously served as headquarters for the Dallas Cowboys during the Clint Murchison days. In 1992, DCI’s offices were re-located a ways further north to 11520 N. Central Expressway (at Forest Lane) in the Forest Central Complex.
The nineties ushered in change for all of Texas. Hurdles that in the late eighties stood in her path were dwarfed by comparison to Texas' will, and it was those same obstacles that shored up Texas’ resolve. As she had for over a century, Texas emerged onto the new millennium a brilliant Lone Star, true Texas, Texas real. That same dogged determination transcends today's business climate, for Texas and for commerce globally. Today, our name is DCI Texas. At the heart of it, DCI Texas has emerged branded with that same "Texas Texture" and infused with those same values coded deep in the DNA, values steeped in staying power, born of will, distilled in the true spirit of Texas herself. From 1989, DCI has ascribed to the true culture of this great state, hard work. Our focus and our passion remain constant, a rock-solid purpose, formed of granite, to be innovative for our clients and achieve measurable and significant return on each marketing dollar.
